The development marks a major shift for African football’s biggest individual awards ceremony, which has been hosted in Morocco for the past four years.
The upcoming edition is now expected to take place in Nigeria, further positioning the country at the center of continental football activities.
In addition to the awards ceremony, Nigeria will also host the 48th CAF General Assembly a significant gathering that brings together football administrators, stakeholders, and federation representatives from across Africa.
